Because if you aren’t those bad boys are about to be blown clear off your feet!

Prepare yourself for the most awesomest thing ever!™

If you heard me on a recent episode of The Gameluv Show, you know that I have been replaying Mass Effect 2. You also know that I was not looking forward to this… I felt like I needed to replay the game with all of the DLC in preparation of Mass Effect 3.

Evan, why would you put yourself through the game again if you didn’t like it?

Well, there are multiple “hooks” from Mass Effect 2 that will effect the outcome of Mass Effect 3, and I need to ensure I will have as many as possible active in my Mass Effect 3 game.

When I started playing ME2 again, I was enjoying myself. The story was more engaging than I remembered, and everything seemed to be on the up-and-up. That was until I hit the halfway point in the game and was reminded why I had such disdain for it in the first place…

In the middle of assembling an army of misfit toys to fight off the end of the world, you have to stop everything and solve your crews daddy issues. Miranda, Jacob, Tali, Thane, Samira, and Grunt all need you to make them feel better before they can be fully effective. The plot comes to a grinding halt and you trapse all over the galaxy to coddle teammates.

That was (and is) why I didn’t like Mass Effect 2. It just fell apart at the halfway mark.

Why does everyone make a big deal about something being a gamechanger? For instance… every time Apple holds a press conference, all of the jobophiles run to the mountains to proclaim how the newest feature is a “gamechanger”.

If everyone was sitting around playing a nice game of rummy and someone walked in and said:

UNO! and I win!

Gamechanger bitches!

That person wouldn’t be viewed as revolutionary, they would be an asshole.

James Gilpin has developed a whisky derived from the sugar-heavy urine of type-two diabetes patients. While it is an interesting concept, to me this is akin to making cheese out of breast milk… just because it is possible doesn’t mean it needs to be done.

Gilpin Family Whisky

Large amounts of sugar are excreted on a daily basis by type-two diabetic patients especially amongst the upper end of our aging population. As a result of this diabetic patients toilets often have unusual scale build up in the basin due and rapid mould growths as the sugar put into the system acts as nutrients for mould and bacteria growth. Is it plausible to suggest that we start utilizing our water purification systems in order to harvest the biological resources that our elderly already process in abundance?

That is roast beef shaped to look like a baby. I’ve heard of eating so much you feel like you have a “food baby”, but this is taking to the next level!

(Also, I wonder how this fits in to my theory of everything baby tastes better… Would the roast beef taste better shaped as a baby? Is the theory that robust?!)

The weirdest thing you will ever see

If that title is gibberish to you, then you obviously don’t know about smart image based lighting in Cinema 4D. Honestly, I didn’t know about the sIBL plugin until yesterday when I was poking around the tutorials at Pariah Studios. I have used HDRis for lighting before, but the sIBL plugin turns the difficulty for lighting a scene to “easy mode”.

Here are a few quick renders I did, using a few different sIBL sets from HDRLabs.com. Grouped images all use the same background, which is just rotated to show how the lighting changes automagically.

So Rock Band 3 is shipping with a keyboard peripheral. My first thought was

ZOMG! There is going to be a Rock Band: Phish soon

And today I saw the track listings. For the 1990′s, there is

Phish, “Llama”

That’s not to mention the one song that already exists for Phish as DLC. Slowly but surely I am getting to live my dream of being John Fishman (muumuu and all)
