So, I am trying to get a nice assortment of pieces to put in my portfolio to send to potential employers, and I am kinda flipping out a little. I really want to start ding something with video and motion, but there has only been one real motion project from school and I am not happy with it. This wouldn’t be an issue, but all of the self-motivated video projects I had intended on completing this last quarter fell by the wayside. That leaves me with zero personal projects to offset the one disappointing project I have.
I could continue to look for web development coops. While the web side of things is something I enjoy, is not what I was intending on focusing on. I was hoping on branching out and exposing myself to new opportunities. While going on a coop is nice for networking, I feel that it should also be a chance for me to encounter things outside of my “normal” realm. I was really happy when we were working in After Effects, and I want to know if it is something I really want to do for a career. I don’t want to wonder “what if” when I graduate.
I don’t know, maybe this self-doubt is a good thing. I keep trying to better myself, so that is a plus.
