I woke this morning, and I could not shake the dream I had last night. This is something really out-of-character for me, since I usually do not remember what I dream. Even now, a few hours after waking up, I am losing most of the content… But man, it was a weird one.
What I do remember is being at a house along some river, which was reminiscent of the canals in either Venice or Amsterdam. I was sent by the wealthy gentleman who owned the house to go investigate why there was a killer whale beached on the river banks. I started to head down, but I could see there was nothing I would be able to do, and there was already a crowd of people there trying to help. From there, I think I started playing football with my wife.
The fact that I remembered my dream was odd enough for me, but I was not able to get those visions out of my head. Everything felt so real, and it was more of a memory than a dream.
Alone, I would have been able to write it off as one of those freak coincidences, but after parking my car and heading towards school, I saw a Semi hit a truck into a person on their bike. I was going to head over and see what I could do to help but there was already a crowd of people, some being police officers. There was nothing I could do to help, and headed in to my class.
While I don’t believe that our dreams can work as premonitions, it was odd to have this dream I couldn’t shake, and then see it almost play out exactly (well, sans killer whale).
If I see a whale today, I might explode.
