I can’t wait for this game to come out
I can’t wait for this game to come out
So you guys know I have a thing for the game Plants vs Zombies, right?
Well, someone made some of the plants in to plushies! I honestly would buy these if they were available for sale.

I avoided this game like the plague at first, because I assumed any game with a title written in quasi-1337sp33k wouldn’t be worth the $1 price tag…. and I was really wrong. Once I found out it was made by Ska Studio’s, I bought it right away. They are people that did Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, which was one of my top 5 games of 2009.
It is a simple zombie twin-stick shooter. If there was a way to add tower-defense, it would be the perfect game for me. There are tons of power ups, the soundtrack is rough, but the game is tongue-in-cheek so that doesn’t bother me. I find myself wanting to play this more than some XBLA games that I have payed $10 for.
WARNING: There are a lot of strobing lights, so if you are in any way sensitive to that, do not get this game. I found that if I hav a really good run and can live for more than 10 minutes I get nauseous.
Video of gameplay:
System: Xbox 360
Distributed: XBLA
Download it to your xbox- http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802585502a6/
That was good for me, was it good for you?
This tugs on every one of my heartstrings. I didn’t realize how much I missed hearing “Ladies and Gentlemen, the next Brooklyn bound L train will be arriving in X minutes” until I saw this video.
Found in my Kotaku RSS feed
If I haven’t mentioned it enough, I am a HUGE fan of Team Fortress 2. Not only is the game balanced (for the most part), but it is done in a tongue-in-check way that doesn’t take itself to seriously. TF2 focuses on being fun first, and everything else falls in to place.
Sadly, TF2 on the Xbox 360 is no where near the amazing experience it is on the PC. It has yet to be updated from the initial launch of the game, which means all of the new weapons, class balancing, maps, and rule sets are missing on the console version. It is also prone to people cheating, and if you can find a match, it will be a test or your patience. There was a video I saw that restored my faith in class-based shooters on a console:
Monday Night Combat, by Uber Entertainment, looks strikingly similar to TF2. There are multiple classes, each with strengths and weaknesses. It is light-hearted, and for all intents and purposes is a re-skinned TF2…. and I am fine with that. I would love to have a great class-based shooter on the 360.
The one thing that Uber needs to make sure they do is push updates to players for new content. If I have to pay $5 for every update, I am going to leave this game by the wayside and go turn on my PC, where I get all the TF2 updates freely. Games like this require constant tweaking and regular rollouts of new additions to keep the game fun and balanced. If Uber treats MNC like Valve treated the console version of TF2, it will become the same wasteland that TF2 is now.
(And yes, I realize that Valve wanted to put out free updated for TF2 and Microsoft wouldn’t let them distribute the content for free at the time.)
I LOVE Plants vs Zombies. It takes the concept of a tower defense game and executes it almost perfectly. If you haven’t played it yet, I suggest you download the demo now (unless you like being productive… then I suggest you stay as far away from this game as you can.)
I mean, look at the zombicide I was creating the other day
Plus, with a theme song like this, how can you not love the game?
I decided to boot up the windows side of my laptop last night, and noticed there were two games available for cheap on Steam. These are Episodes 1 and 2 of the Penny Arcade point & click adventure game. Both games are available now for $4.99 each! That means you can get two quality games for just under $10.
I grew up playing games like Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, and Maniac Mansion. The PA games fall right in line with the games of my youth. There is a great mixture of humor and storytelling, some puzzle solving, and a polished user experience. If you are looking for a new game to play, I would strongly suggest you pick these up.
I am a huge geek, and it is starting to rub off on my wife. One night we were watching The Soup and they were playing the Pants on the ground clip from American Idol:
My wife started singing along and then she started laughing to herself. When I asked her what was so funny, she told me she did a little mashup in her head with Pants on the Ground and Chicken Tetrazzini. Since I am waiting on some people to send me files, I decided to grab the two clips and see what could be done. Well, this is what can be done:
Chicken Pants – The Ringtone (click to play)
This is what I was referring to when I said on the twitters
If you heard what I just heard, you would understand why I am so happy
And as you can guess by the title, this is the new ringtone for whenever my wife calls me. I am going to try extending this out once I have free time to see if it works as a whole song.
If you couldn’t tell by my incessant tweeting and my Raptr profile, I am a huge fan of 1 vs 100 on Xbox Live. The people involved did a great job converting the game show to a video game, and it is a really fun way to kill some time. Sadly, yesterday was the last live show of the season, which means Sara and I will have to wait and see if they are going to bring the game back for another season.
There was one question last night that left me, Sara, and our friend Mike rolling on the floor, howling with laughter. When you see it, you’ll shit bricks
This is @deafcarr0t‘s laptop:
This laptop, like Snow White, is in danger. If I ever see it, I will have to steal it.
